Zemanta, a gift from the Bloggess

I should start by saying this is not in any way endorsed by the twitter user TheBloggess, I simply thought that if bloggers had a deity, it would be a woman. (Just like Christians) If you’ve never heard of Zemanta, don’t feel bad, neither had I until this week. I found this great tool while looking for something to find all of the phrases in my post that corresponded to wikipedia articles and create links to the articles, Zemanta does this and a lot more!

Zemanta finds context sensitive links, images, and even other blog entries that relate to the post you’re working on. It’s quick, easy, and free! Check it out at zemanta.com

I actually use this and it's great! My blog would be pretty lame, or at least lamer without it. I like the search capability of Zemanta if it doesn't pull anything that I like I can search for something. The links that it provides related to things in my posts, as well as suggested posts from other sites actually helps me stay abreast on what's going on in the world. It also helps with networking because some of the sites it suggests I know I wouldn't find on my own.
I did hear that a drawback to Zemanta was the fact that the pictures suggested are linked to sites like Flickr which means that although there is sharing license, the picture may not be available if the site goes down or the person was to remove the picture. In my view, all the pros outweighed that con.
